Early in the evening we enjoyed a lovely buffet, cocktails and warm friendly stories. After the festivities ASLA open the business of their annual meeting. Each year ASLA presents their prestigious Past Presidents’ Award to an organization for their public service to communities and to the State of Rhode Island. This year’s Past Presidents Award was present by Tim Gerrish, ASLA President, to the Rhode Island Tree Council, received by Vernon Current, Rhode Island Tree Councils Treasurer. RITree wishes to express our thanks to the American Society of Landscape Architects for the most enjoyable Christmas party and such an honorable award. Two of our own Board of Directors, Sarah Bradford and Steven Pilz both of whom are ASLA members and Jeanne Current, RITree Office systems consultant were also present. RITRee is committed to educating our citizens of the environmental and ecological important and the preservation of trees throughout our communities and the State of Rhode Island.
