ALB Insectisides
The following insecticides will be used by the USDA-FS and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to to help eradicate the Asian longhorned beetle infestation in Worcester.  They are listed by their scientific name:

Imidicloprid
Emambectin benzoate
Clothianidin
Dinotefuran

All the chemicals have systemic properties and are easily translocated throughout the plant upon entry.  These insecticides are contact and stomach toxins.  Upon their ingestion, pests stop feeding and, subsequently, die.  Imidicloprid and emamectin benzoate have previously been used to combat Emerald Ash Borer infestations in the United States.    In Massachusetts, all of these insecticides will be either applied to trees by soil drench or trunk injection.
