 Soil testing - A total of 16 elements are needed for plant growth and development. In the absence of any one of them, plants begin to falter. Click here to reach the UMASS SOIL LABORATORY for instructions on how to obtain a proper soil sample and where to send it for analysis. The soil testing fee is about $15 and well worth the cost. Along with the testing results, UMASS will also send information on how to improve your soils should there be a problem.
