I had a fabulous time at your Arbor Day Fair, planting trees in Roger Williams Park. I know part of it was due to the great weather, and it was a pleasure to participate in such a well organized event! Organization makes all the difference in the world! You had the coffee, the kids' activity, the pruning demonstration, and lots of trees, water, and supplies! There were plenty of leaders, and they were friendly and fun. You are to be commended for putting it all together! I took my husband by to see what we did, and my young friend Esmeralda, who accompanied me, keeps saying it was the best Saturday she ever had. We definitely want to participate again next year! Thank you for offering this opportunity to the public!

RITree’s 3rd Annual Arbor Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at City Park in Warwick 9:30 a.m - 3:00 p.m.. The event will once again feature tree planting and care demonstrations, educational booths and a plant disease clinic run by local plant professionals. The Fair is held each year to celebrate the beauty and benefits of trees. This year RITree and National Grid will provide 100 saplings for planting throughout City Park. Species will include dogwood, magnolia, oak, sweetgum and cherry. These trees are all hardy plant species tolerant of urban conditions. They are expected to form a lush green foliage canopy to shade visitors to City Park for many decades to come. The saplings will be planted on May 8th by tree stewards and volunteers.
